Indigo Bunting

Indigo Bunting males are overall deep blue in the summer months and have a dark gray conical bill.  In the winter the males are brownish with some blue on under parts, wings and rump.  Female Indigo Buntings are very plain brown with faint wing bars and streaking with a short, gray, conical bill.  Indigo Buntings can be found throughout the East and Midwest during the summer months.  Come to feeders looking for Sunflower Hearts, Fruit and Millet.
