Black-headed Grosbeak
Black-headed Grosbeaks are members of the Finch family and the males are easily identified with their black above with orange collar and breast and extensive white areas on the wings. Females are brown above, finely streaked with black and tan below. Black-headed Grosbeaks are fairly common throughout the West and is the counter-part of the Rose-breasted Grosbeak found in the East. Black-headed grosbeaks are seen at feeders with Black Oil Sunflower, Striped Sunflower, Sunflower Hearts, Safflower and Cracked Corn.
